Below are answers to your Top 4 Questions!

POWERSCHOOL
The activation codes for the Parent Portal on Power School were emailed to all parents to the address that was designated by the parents as the primary email address. If you did not see the email, check your spam or junk folder. Still no luck? Give the office a call. Power school manages the demographic data of our students; sends out the progress reports and maintains your emergency contact information.
SCHOOL DISMISSAL MANAGER
School Dismissal Manager is the site Cider Mill parents use to manage their students’ after school plans. Each child has a default plan for each day which is typically the home bus. If a different plan is not entered for an afternoon, the student would be sent home on the bus. SDM offers parents the ability to post plans for recurring dates. We no longer have the “Play Date” option on SDM. It proved to be a bit confusing for hosts and guests. This year, if your child is going to another child’s house on the bus, select that child’s bus number from the pull down menu and in the comments space, enter the name of the child hosting the play date and the address. Also, when you enter comments on SDM, please keep them brief and on point. DO NOT USE SDM FOR EARLY PICK UPS, send a note to your teacher for early pick ups. Teachers do not check SDM until the end of the day.

DROP OFF/PICK-UP LINES
Drop-off/Pick-up Lines: The South side of the lot is closest to Comstock. The North side of the parking lot is closest to the High School Football Field. Cannondale and Nod Hill are on the north side of the school. Belden Hill and Kent are on the south side of the school.
LABEL YOUR STUFF!
Be sure to label all your child’s belongings. Over 200 sweatshirts end up in lost property every year! If an item fails to make it home, check out our two Lost and Found areas for any missing items throughout the year! Lost property is generally left where it falls, so you can find things on the stage (left from gym) and in the cafeteria (from lunch).

Connecticut PTA has had and continues to have a leading role in the discussions regarding the development and implementation of the Common Core State Standards Initiative (CCSSI or Common Core).
